Tulocay 2002 Rancho Sarco Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)lighter in color for a Napa cab but not lacking in depth. the nose has an interesting mix of mint chocolate chip ice cream, dirt, oak, red currant and wild berry (elderberry maybe?). cedar and a spicy red fruit jam attacks the palate right up front. the tannins needed to relax a bit and did. dry throughout. a bit more heat on the finish than i had expected. hints of cocoa slip in at the mid and then to leather, oak, and now a darker fruit on the finish. long finish.
