This is a really nice wine. Aromas of vanilla, mint, and dark berries. Dense flavors of ripe plum & cherry combine for a rich mouthfeel, finishing with a spicy oak touch and a hint of dark chocolate.

A very interesting wine with many different layers on the palate. Comes on with quite a bit of heat and acidity, followed by flavors of black pepper, plum, cherry and bitter chocolate. Very dry overall, but with a long-lasting and gently sweet aftertaste.

Nose: Smoky, Leather, Fig and Hyacinth with subtle cassis and 'smarties' dust and jellied cranberry sauce. Another sniff I get a shot of coffee. Taste: Spice and White and Green Pepper, definite blast of bitter chocolate, like drinking 80% cacao. The taste is bunched up in the midpalate - like too many passengers trying to fit thru a single turnstile all at the same time. The play on the palate is a single shot, not much to say of finish. This wine appears to have all it's fun in the nose, and very little at the end. The taste is a little dissapointing after 4 hours of decanting. So far the australian wines I've tried tend to have a magnificent nose, and little else.

This wine was better straight out of the bottle when compared to after it was decanted. Before I decanted this wine it was in the 88 range, after decanting(for only 15 minutes) it was plain, maybe an 81. Tannins are practically non existent, making this wine an easy drinker. The nose is of blueberries and vanilla. When the wine is first opened it explodes with the flavor of blueberry pie and follows with a lingering gentle oak. The texture is a little silky, which is enjoyable. Color is deep purple until the very edge where it becomes a clear pink.

I found this wine for under $10. At that price point, this is an awesome value. It has lots of complex flavors. The finish is a bit flat, but it drinks smooth and was good with some cheese and crackers (or chips and salsa) while watching a football game.

Color: Very dark ruby, completely opaque, very nice. Nose: Straight rubbing alcohol with super subtle fruit. Beer breath, dark berries, black pepper. Taste: Very hot, especially on the attack and the finish, you really feel it going down. Peppery, slightly dry, almost tangy, fair finish length, very little if any fruit.
