Tasting notes: "The vinyard, beautifully stretching over the Bel Air plateau, one of the highest places in the Graves appellation, grows over a graves terroir with a limestone and clay subsoil. This geological area, an isolated part of a former terrace built by the Garonne, is typical of the terroir of many famous growths in this Pessac Leognan area: Chateau La Tour Martillac, La Louviere, Smith Haut Lafite, Carbonnieux, Pape Clement."

Chateau De Callac Graves Blanc 2006
(about 1 year ago)Really well balanced white. Like a good New Zealand Sauv Blanc, but with a bigger and stronger backbone.

(about 1 year ago)Pale as water on the color. Hints of lemon and vegetables/grass on the nose. Strong flavor of minerals/wet rocks. A bit buttery and lemony. Nice mouth feel and it sticks around. Best paired with food.
Chateau De Callac Graves Blanc 2006
(about 1 year ago)Nice smooth, white pepper, peaches, hint of banana, and white chocolate.
Chateau De Callac Graves Blanc 2006
(about 1 year ago)This wine smells like melons, vanilla and broken up nuts. It has a silky smooth mouth feel, laced with butter and cream. There is a sour bite in the transition from mid palate to finish which lingers in the supple finish. This is a VERY nice wine. I tried the '05 version of this with the Christmas pack, however I feel that this wine is nicer when chilled then the '05 version was. It is creamier and not too sugary like I felt the '05 was.
Chateau De Callac Graves Blanc 2006
(about 1 year ago)banana, honey, apples on the nose. Pears, green apples, citrus on the flavor profile. Nice acidity. Slight butter. Long finish. Great buy.
Chateau De Callac Graves Blanc 2006
(about 1 year ago)Very pale yellow color. A nose of pomegranette, grass and hints of green salad. The wine benefited from being open for a while. Good rounded acidity. A long finish with a nutty aftertast. Lacking something in the integration, but overall a very good wine.
