From Winery: The vineyard, beautifully stretching over the Bel Air plateau, one of the highest places in the Graves appellation, grows over a graves terroir with a limestone and clay subsoil. This geological area, an isolated part of a former terrace built by the Garonne, is typical of the terroir of many famous growths in this Pessac-Leognan area : Château La Tour Martillac, La Louvière, Smith Haut Lafite, Carbonnieux, Pape Clément ... Further south, it is the essential geological underground of Château Yquem. The varietals planted at Château de Callac are the noblest ones : - Merlot (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) for the Graves reds

A touch of potpourri on the nose. A little bit thin on the front end. Simply, it lacks a satisfactory body.
