Rouquette E Cazes Xisto 2003
(3 months ago)From Portugal, this red blend is extremely sophisticated from nose through finish. At over $40, it is a pricey wine, but worth it. The nose is complex, with floral elements, dark berries and jam, and even a little barnyard. The attack is more like a swelling of red currant flavors that seem to evaporate on the palate, with raspberry jam also present on the finish. Tannins are integrated and the oak is managed. A great wine overall.
