Tor di Vento Barolo 2002
(9 months ago)Brownish edge to the dark color telling of all those tannins still alive and well since 2002. I'm personally not against it, and appreciate the dark chocolate, ginger and mild fruit on the palate, but it feels a bit empty / thin before the finish. A nice change to Cabernets still.

(9 months ago)Walnuts and almonds at the nose developing further in the decanter into the complicated mixture of smells, where you can feel chocolate, plums, and a hint on pepper. Medium body apparent on entry, very tannic and i would say rustic. Seems to loose its finesse on the endpalate though, becomes one-dimensional, but some tannins are still evident on the finish. Overall doesn't have enough fruitiness to cope with the tannic structure.
