90 points Robert Parker: "The 2005 Shiraz Black Wing offers black cherry, chocolate, smoke, and earth characteristics in a medium-bodied, rich, intense format. Drink it over the next 2-3 years." (10/06) Aged in French and American oak for 12 -18 months. Deep purple/red color. Rich berry fruits on the nose with hints of pepper and spice. Supple berry intensity in the mouth with velvety soft middle palate and a long finish... particularly considering the price tag on this fab value!

(6 months ago)Superb wine for the price. Tons of berries and chocolate. Not too acidic like you find with lower price wines. Definitely one to get again.

(5 months ago)Medium bodied, smoky and oaky. Well balanced taste and is a great $10 bottle.

(5 months ago)Gary Vaynerchuk and Robert Parker didn't promise too much about this wine. It is delicious. Very nice sniffy-sniff: zucchini, eggplant and blackberry components. Also a nose full of spices... kind of like ground green peppers (not that I ever saw that somewhere) and just a little sage. Feels silky and oily, very smooth in the mouth, nearly muddy. Well balanced weight. Not too heavy and not light at all. In addition to the smell there is a massive cherry taste developing on the tongue and in the finish (here also with some more veggies and a slide of potato). Warm and muddy as it waves "good bye" while travelling downwards. Good catch for a very fair price of under ten (US) bucks.

(4 months ago)Very good for the price. Good QPR per Gary Vaynerchuck. Nice wine to sit and drink on regular nights. Nice fruit forward flavor that is very drinkable.
