1995 Elderton Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot

the nose is leather, dirty potatoes, cracked pepper, and veggies. the fruit here is raspberry and currant. also a hint of oceanside rock. an elegant wine with a buttery mouthfeel and rounded tannins. candied licorice as in Good-n-Plenty throughout. gravel that has been simmering in a light tomato sauce is also present on the mid palate. an excellent older wine for the value.
