Jumilla 2003
(11 months ago)Weirdly I just wrote this, but it erased my excellent prose... Super rich wine with great depth but strong tannins. It has a distinct "olive" taste that I find common in Jumillas. This is a very good wine but should be consumed with food. I think it will be even better in 5 years. It was given a 91 by Parker if that matters to you.

(10 months ago)I've never had wine from the Jumilla region so this was a first for me. A decent value and nicely structured wine overall. Fresh out of the bottle, the nose is strong of blueberries and spice. After it's been opened for a bit, the berry calms a bit and is replaced more by what I feel is anise and nutmeg. On the palate, the cherry is strong, as well as other red fruit and the anise once again. The tannins are slightly gripping, but they ease up just a bit after some air and aren't really noticeable if you drink this with food. The finish is long and smooth.
