A beautiful Californified version of Grenache. Like strawberries and cherries that have marinated in pure vanilla. Some fake Hi-C (using the Gary V vernacular) on the nose. Unlike the Aussie grenache, this one brings a bit more sugar, candied fruit, and is distinctly more oaky. But the balance is fantastic, the mouthfeel is full and luxurious. The amazing alcohol level (15.5%) is completely masked. An excellent effort. Worth putting a couple in the cellar.
