Benziger 2001 Pinot Noir

Unsure about best temperature for serving, as it may have been a bit above typical "room" when we poured this. Very dry, almost bitter to the taste, with a nice, long finish. Black cherry and chocolate were most frequently experienced. Most likely served best with food, preferably something rich.

I brought this bottle back from the Benziger winery in Sonoma. This may have just sat in the bottle in my un-cellar-like apartment for too long. Best bet would have been to taste this in tandem with a 2001 vintage that had been stored properly. But, overall, still a very good pinot noir.
