This is a great example of a traditional southern Muscadine wine. It is not going to be liked by wine snobs or fanciers of dry reds - it is very sweet. People interested in wine and culinary history should not miss out on learning about an important part of the American wine-making past.

A very sweet traditional Southern wine with a strong muscadine flavor. It's a good dessert wine, but is far too sweet to imbibe much of. It is NOT "candy grape juice spiked with alcohol" as stated by the other reviewer. It's a wine that goes back to the roots of this country in preparation and while not a wine for connoisseurs, it has its place.

This is a fantastic wine for sauces when preparing desserts and other entres. The distinct taste of the muscadine grapes is quite obvious and adds a unique Southern flavor.

Anyone that has grown up in the South knows the grapes this wine is made from grow wild and has tasted flavor similar to this in homemade wines for generations.

Candy grape juice spiked with alcohol. At least there's no alcohol taste. Just candy.
