Chateau Saint-Auriol 2000
(6 months ago)This is a Grenache-Syrah dominated cuvee with some Mourvèdre, and rare Carignan added. A real find, especially for such low price: has dark and deep cranberry juice color; nice sweet fruit on the nose with a smoky and meaty undertones which are subtle and extremely attractive. The palate is gently creamy on entry, then it reveals some characteristic nicely integrated tannins at midpalate. Overall, very appealing, elegant, balanced and overwhelmingly romantic
