Kent Rasmussen 2004 Esoterica Petit Sirah
(8 months ago)Out of the bottle this is the single darkest wine I have ever ever seen. Unrealistic in its darkness. I mean so dark it is barely even wine. The nose kind of reminds me of fern in a greenhouse dipped in booze with heavy fruit. The palate is, I don’t know. It’s heavy, thick, not very pleasant. Really unique. The finish is very unpleasant, sharp, hot, too much spicy alcohol, almost like a wine mixed with pepper vodka. All and all I’m not sure I can recommend this wine. You could put this shit in a ball point pen if necessary. This would pair nicely with blue berry Eggo waffles but for the price you can find much better. Pass.
