Ruffino Orvieto Classico 2006
(3 months ago)Pale straw-yellow. Somewhat aromatic nose with notes of pear, lemon zest, nuts and popcorn kernels. Dry on the palate with moderate acidity, moderate alcohol and decent length. Flavours are very nutty with a pleasant hint of bitter almond on the finish. This is an easy drinking, yet very characterful wine that makes for a nice change from the overly fruit-forward whites being cranked out of most New World wine regions. It gets extra points for being a great value.

(2 months ago)I wouldn't say it any differently - except for the popcorn kernels - than manimal. We bought this wine on sale and expected something very average. It turned out to be quite a delight. The nose is full of pears but it's not a very fruity wine. Very refreshing, great for summer temperatures and white fish dinners.

(about 1 month ago)Very good balance and acidity. Cery, very good wine for the price. Just perfect with white sauce pasta.
