Purchased at CVS Pharmacy for $3. The nose has some anise and tannin, along with something unpleasant of the wood variety. The taste is an improvement, with decent juicy fruit, but it only raises it to mediocre. Based on this bottle, TJ's comparably-priced Charles Shaw is definitely superior.

For the price, this is an excellent bottle of wine. Nothing exceptional, but balanced with some fruit and a decent finish for $3.99 -- you just can't beat that for an every-day red.

For the price this to me is an unbelievable bottle of wine. When you drink it you would never guess it is a 5$ bottle. It seems more like a 10$ bottle.
