1996 Opus One
(over 2 years ago)First smell out of the bottle is plums. A deep sniff on the glass gives you leather and smoke. As you take a sip, it has good firm tannins but it is soft, not harsh. Dark berries and tobacco swirl around the mouth with just a hint of smoke. The finish is strong and lingers. It's a very masculine wine. Potent stuff.

1996 Opus One
(about 1 year ago)This was one of the best wines I have ever had! However, I'm not sure it's worth the cost which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of the full five that the flavor deserves. It's wonderfully smoky, full, and intense, yet super smooth!!
