The grapes were organically and Biodynamically grown on our cool American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, not far from the San Francisco Bay. In the glass, the wine offers a whiff of the tropics with kiwi, grapefruit, pineapple and a hint of minerality. On the tongue, this full-bodied wine has a crisp, refreshing texture and a long finish. This versatile, flavorful white wine is a great companion to a wide variety of food flavors and textures.

My wife and I have made two trips to the Grgich Winery over the last year. Each time we have picked up a case of the Fume Blanc. I really like this wine. I am normally a powerful red guy -- so that is saying something for a crisp white. It has a very strong grapefruit body, but it works well. This is the perfect refreshing bottle for a nice sunny day.

I've now had excellent dry white wine from Grgic in Croatia and Grgich in California. They're the same family, famous for Chardonnay but I prefer the Fume Blanc and Posip. Fun with fish but versatile, crisp and refreshing, fruit but not overwhelmingly so. Got it at the bar in Casablanca restaurant in Harvard sq.
