2006 Ponzi Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
(2009-12-07 14:29:02 UTC)Slightly candied on the nose and palate. Tasted alongside a 2006 Seghesio Russian River Pinot, which highlighted ripeness and lighter character of this wine. By no means a slacker, there is a lot to desire here. The color is light like cranberry and magenta. The nose is more floral than fruity. Medium to light bodied. Just a slight amount of candied cherry. Some Asian spiciness. Balanced acidity, tanin and alcohol. Soft finish.

(2008-05-30 22:57:48 UTC)Scored to price. This is nice, but maybe not 30 dollars nice. Cheeries and loam. Good juice. @ $20 I'd probably score it a low-90s, but for 30 it's a little (not a lot, just a little) ho-hum. Pairs well with quite a few dishes, though none as well as gardening - the soil on my hands really brought out the depth in the last glass.
