Small Gully Mr. Black's Concoction Barossa Valley GSM

I tried this for the first time at a tasting about an hour after I graduated college. I had never had a GSM before, and immediately picked up on the spicy quality of this wine- You'd almost think there was a dash of cayenne in it! The nose is a little alcohol-dominant, even after decanting, also with some heavy leather notes. There is an immediate acid quality which slowly dissipates into leather and a *touch* of oak. There is also some cherry, vanilla, black pepper present. The alcoholic nose isn't present in the taste. Chewy and complex, the flavor changes from acidic to full bodied to rich and spicy, stinging your tongue (like spices would) and lingering for upwards of 3-5 minutes. A fantastic full bodied red.
