69% Merlot 29% Cabernet Sauvignon 2% Cabernet Franc 2005 Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Meritage is a traditional blend dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The deep-purple pigments and aromas of spice box and cedar lead to an initial attack of sweet black cherry kirsch from the Merlot, gracefully surrounded by voluptuous Cabernet Sauvignon notes of pure black fruit, which dominate and conceal the ripe tannins building to an elegant and polished finish. Drink now through 2012.

I feel like I work for the Costco marketing department, but this is another very fine wine from Costco. In fact, at $11 it is hard to beat. Its big and bold, with a perfect balance (complement?) of Merlot and Cab Sav. I am sure that the 2% Cab Franc also does some profound thing, but I will be damned if I know exactly.
