Trader Joe's Grower's Reserve Zinfandel 2007
(7 months ago)The nose is rich with anise, mothballs, spice and wood. Noticeable alcohol, too, though it smooths with breathing. The taste has plenty of berry fruit, is somewhat juicy, but balance-wise seems young, which it is. Lots of cellaring potential I would think. It's good now, and should improve significantly with time.

(5 months ago)As far as I'm concerned, this is quite nearly the perfect wine. No, it's not the best out there, by any means, but it's VERY affordable, and much more drinkable than low-sulfite wines that cost nearly double the price. With a sulfite sensitivity, I can't drink many wines. This one has a young, but much more complex flavor that I'm accustomed to tasting in an organic wine. I'm hooked, completely.
