Tarapaca Carmenere 2006
(3 months ago)Opaque, purple-ruby hue with a narrow, clearly defined rim. Aromatic nose of black licorice, menthol, bell pepper, cooked black fruit, vanilla and spice. Dry, with moderate acidity, considerable (yet balanced) alcohol, evident but very ripe and supple tannins. Moderate to long finish. A bit of bitterness on the finish, but not so much as to be very unpleasant. Full-bodied with flavours that follow the nose. Excellent value. Alot of wine for not alot of money.
