Lodi appellation, 14.5% alcohol, supposedly. I have my doubts.

Leccino 2005 Zinfandel Old Vine
(2 months ago)This is one of Phoenix-area grocery newcomer Fresh & Easy's proprietary labels. It claims to weigh in at 14.5% alcohol. Given the way I feel, or more accurately how I do NOT feel, after two glasses, I think the alcohol may be a wee bit overstated. "Old Vine?" This one tastes like "New Grapes" to me. It's pleasant, fruity and VERY bland & boring. The kicker is that the label states, "Enjoy now or store carefully for up to 2 years after purchase." One would think that an actual 14.5% Old Vine Zin would last a few years LONGER on the rack. One would ALSO think that an Old Vine Zin should grab one's tongue and, while holding it, thrash one around a bit. Negative on both counts. Don't waste your money.
