Red Wine Pinot Noir by Belle Glos from Sonoma County, California. Dark ruby color. Aromas of cherries, cola and mixed berries-mulberry, blackberry and blueberry all at once-with suggestions of minerals, pumice and light smoke. The flavors are huge for Pinot Noir, again dominated by ripe cherries and berries... Continued at wine.com ›

Belle Glos 2003 Taylor Lane Vineyard Pinot Noir
(over 2 years ago)Unlike any other Pinot I've had. This was bold & ripe with multiple layers of fruit. Very refined, balanced & feminine. I tried this in a line up that included a Caymus Special Selection Cab and a Dog Ridge MVP Shiraz, and this wine held its own.

(about 1 year ago)Definitely some ripe fruit and cola on the nose. Robust on the palate, with a lot of ripe cherries. Finish was a touch mild, with a continuation of the above flavors, as well as a faint whiff of chocolate, and fairly long lasting. Quite nice.

(10 months ago)Wow, WS rated this a 79. Sometmes I really wonder what planet they are on. I normally tend to like bolder varitals but this was impressive. Lots of ripe red fruit, very well integrated with the alcohol and tannin. Medium bodied and very smooth on the palate. A great food wine.

(5 months ago)Yes, I would agree with above taster about Wine Spectator. Anyone who has consumed this wine and rates in 79/100 points has something seriously wrong with them. Aside from the fact that the wine displays some alcohol (which does come off), the wine displays an incredible array of cola, earth and smoke aromas around ripe black cherry and vanilla. Compelling to say the least, and the palate is no less inspiring, with similar flavors attacking upon entry and lingering long after the finish. The wine shows significant complexity as well, showing a nice transformation from tight and slightly awkward at first to unfolding wonderfully during the hour and a half of consumption. I have found all three of the Belle Glos wines (Clark and Telephone, Taylor Lane and Las Alturas) to be quite different and all quite impressive.
