Very interesting wine, very layered aromas of completely unexpected elements, like a very very strong anise (black licorice), wet bark, CREST TOOTHPASTE, some dark muddy graves like earth elements and a very ripe sharp raspberry, old musty leather, ripe red currant, sweet plum... so much going on, manufactured smelling grapey HI-c, ect. Huge nose. On the palate....far more muted... amazing tame mouthfeel especially on attack and midpalate, very dry tannic finish, alot of leather (old), old damp hide and fur, wet bark and old iron and dry leaves on the palate, a surprising juxtaposition of new world nose and older world palate. I am downright confused here.
