Very fruity nose. Like grape kool-aid when first opened, but after a few minutes just loads of dark fruit. Some minerality evident on the nose as well. Medium- to full-bodied with a fruity attack on the palate: raspberries, blackberries and black cherries. Nice tannins towards the finish and a long, dark chocolate finish. A nice, balanced wine that doesn't quite live up to the three 90+ point ratings from WA, WS & IWC.

Previous review of this wine was right on - very grape oriented at first, but this fruitiness blows off and some darker nuances emerge. Some pretty rough tannins are really getting in the way at the moment, and I would guess the all-important "score" for this wine will improve with several years in bottle. Not up to the Pasquera in this vintage, although it will probably live at least as long.
