Baltos 2004 Mencia
(about 1 year ago)Dark ruby in color. Slightly aromatic in the nose, cherry, strawberry, and a hint of black pepper and spice. Fresh black cherry on the palate with round, balanced tannins and a pleasing finish.
Baltos 2004 Mencia
(about 1 year ago)This may sound crazy, but this smells and intially tastes like a Washington state cab. There's good solid dark fruit, a minty greeness and vegetal component and balancing acidity. The mouthfeel and lack of significant tannins are the weaknesses of this wine. Nice, but doesn't blow me away.
