This is a typical big, bold, knock your block off California Zinfandel. Oupost is in Napa where the Zins are supposed to be more balanced and sophisticated, but this one ain't it! It is certainly a thick, viscous, high alcohol, fruit bomb and is sophisticated in the sense that you can tell from the flavors that this wine came from excellent Howell Mountain fruit, but it's not balanced. The nose is all alcohol, the initial taste is all dark fruit, and the finish is a tobacco, leather, and incredible strong florals. Suspect this wine will only get better over the next five to ten years and will bet the alcohol will integrate with the fruit and make this a 95 point wine at least.
