2008 Nobilo Icon Sauvignon Blanc

Semi-pungent aroma of garbage and greens with a hint of tropical fruit. Clean citrus and grass on the palate. I agree with the minerality in the mid-palate. Though the nose was a real complex character, the taste was surprisingly smooth. I think the acid could have been a bit stronger. If you can find a bottle for $15, it's worth a whirl. The earthiness and semi-pungent aroma may not appeal to everyone.

Tasted at wine dinner:

Wonderfully young straw/greenish hue. Nose shouted pineapple, green apple, and grapefruit. The palate was lively and crisp again showing pineapple, green apple, and grapefruit with some nice minerality at the later middle palate. Terrific acidity and balance paired the salmon perfectly

Interesting nose of pineapple, orange, dirt, and a little BO. Very clear tangerene on the palate. Really enjoyed this.
