Tasting Notes from Cork’d Members
Cameron Hughes Lot 11 2003 Petite Sira
(over 2 years ago)From their site:"Taste: Decant for an hour or two. Blackberry/raspberry and spice nose turns bold and unabashed on the palate. Exceptional “juiciness” on the mid-palate accentuated by the most expensive “bulk” Zinfandel I have ever bought. Ripe, racy, and muscular (and definitely needing some decanting), this beautifully integrated wine will continue to evolve considerably over the next year before settling in for a long-life ahead. Twenty-five month’s in mostly neutral wood make this wine all about the fruit.
Cameron Confidential: Made with high-end blending components from a 20 year old benchland vineyard making for one of California’s classic old-world blends. Petite Sirah and Zin are a marriage made in Heaven here."
