2007 Yalumba 'Y Series' Viognier
(2009-09-15 21:41:34 UTC)This wine is clean, crisp with a great hint of citrus. I thought I even tasted some peach. This is a great wine to have before dinner.

Nice light gold colour. Nose is light, some peach and booze. Taste brings apricot, some lemon, and a lot of alcohol, the heat dominates the brew making it hard to drink, tough finish full of ethanol. I love the Viognier varietal, but this is just not up to par, not giving me any of the peach, cream, and hedonistic flavours that Viognier is famous for, pretty much all alcohol with a little fruit. Pass, even at $9.

(2008-12-15 04:34:29 UTC)This was my first experience with drinking Viognier. I was very impressed. I absolutely loved how smooth, creamy, and light it was. The bottle went down so easily. Many whites are either too sweet or too acidic for me, this was just perfect.

(2008-07-02 04:39:02 UTC)This wine is from Eden Valley in So. Australia. I had the 2007 vintage. Quite a nice little wine. Pale yellow in color with a nondescript nose that hinted of pear or melon. It's a full-bodied white with a creamy mouthfeel and some minerality. I think there's a little oak there, and the acidity level seemed to come and go, but it was alright paired with salad, roast chicken and hummus. Had sort of a chardonnay feel, but a little leaner and not buttery. Good sipper, good with light food.

(2007-11-16 08:32:40 UTC)Colour the same as Gavi wine.
Nose: Hint of apple and guava. Pineapple. Slight metallic smell. Nothing really come out and grabs me. A typical entry level Viognier.
Taste: Citrus, apple peel, hint of manderine, soft mouth feel, melon.
Acidity gets away a little bit. An alright entry level Viognier. Quite good value for $11.
