For the money this gets 3 stars. It is your basic Zin. Like many in this price range, it has that generic jammy taste, and slight effervesent finish. However, it rates higher than the myriad mass-pros because it lacks that syrupy finish that most have. The castle rock finishes delicately. Definitely drinkable. Hint of current, moderate fruit, slight pepper finish. Good everyday option if you want to switch it up once in a while.
