We tasted this as part of a flight for my sister-in-law's 30th birthday. She's a little new to wine tasting and wasn't a fan, but I thought it was a great buy at $14.99 and an easy drink. Color was deep garnet, with a nose of clove and spices. It had medium-full body and was round and flavorful in my mouth. I thought it tasted like smoke, BBQ, and dark berries; another taster said it tasted like sex. Good with smoked food and BBQ meats. I am a big Zin fan and will probably pick this up again soon.

If I combined King Kong & Willy Wonka, I'd have this wine. Giant & Fruity...not fruity in a girly-girl way, but manly, dark fruits.

I'm talking rich, black fruit! Dark wine here. Rich, full bodied wine. On the nose, black berries and cassis. ripe black plum aromas. Mouth - ok, if you could combine King Kong and Willy Wonka, you'd have this wine... it is big and fruity. not in a girly girl fruity way, but in a manly way. Big ripe dark red fruits. Dark cherries, black figs, blueberries. It's rich, velvety and BIG. fruit bomb - not my bag, but i think a lot of people will like it.

So I just bought this wine and will try it tomorrow. I was tempted by your description and I found it in my grocery store today.

Ohh, I've seen this at the grocery...sounds like a decent wine for just a little moola. Thx, LR.

I love your reviews. And I concur - it really is fruity in a manly way. :)

Bright, sweet, candied berries on the nose with a little mint or menthol (or maybe its just the alcohol showing). Smells a lot like when you walk into a winery - a little overpoweringly ripe. On the palate it's fleshy with very extracted black fruit with a touch of earth. No structure or acidity to speak of - and it suffers for it. This is just too fruit-bomby for my taste these days.

Great nose. Nice big Zin. can you say fruit? Lots of it hear. Call me an american but I like that =)

Soft mouth feel. Glides over the palette. could drink this by itself or pair with any number of meats, sauces or chocolate desserts. Yummy.

Things were going great for me on this wine until about the 7th inning. A bit of sourness kicked in and knocked the score down a couple points.

Good acidity on the back end and nice long finish. All and all I'd call this one a winner (But I still don't like the label). Cheers!

BIG! Something about this wine just grabs me. Pepper and plums in the nose with a serious amount of raspberry and blueberry in the flavor, with hints of dark chocolate coming through the finish.

Lots of red fruit, with a light mouth feel, very little earthiness or wood taste, mainly fruit driven. Also is very tart and acidic for a red wine. Perhaps a little hot on the back end, but overall very drinkable. Good with a variety of meats, but amazing with chocolate!
