Houghton 2004 vintage cabernet shiraz merlot
(about 1 year ago)LABEL NOTES: ripe berry fruit flavours, integrated with fleshy satsuma plum characters, the wine has structure and suppleness. Complexed with spicy oak and fine tannins the palrae finishes long and smooth. Enjoy know with char-grilled meats and tomato based dishes or cellar for up to 3 years. FOOD SERVED WITH THIS WINE:: Grilled lamb with redcurrent and wine sauce (using this wine as the sauce base) # Pasta with fresh tomato and herb sauce. # I'm afraid I did not like this wine very much. I was expecting a smooth and supple wine. On the first taste it seemed quite harsh and almost vinegary. Second taste was better - tangy , full flavoured. Too spicy/peppery for me.

(about 1 year ago)Unremarkable but drinkable blend. High tannins, low fruit
