Holy crap! This is what a cheap red table wine should be! At $6 a bottle this was an awesome buy, we bought 2 bottles on visit and now i find out they are either out or it's not something you can order online/phone. This bottle has a wonderful nose, a bit of body and a nice level of taste with a bit of berry and spice and a hint of earthyness. It's a subtle blend of the vineyards leftovers/etc. No year on the bottle so I'm assuming it's produced yearly and such.

On a recent visit to Monterey, my girlfriend and I stopped into the Ventana Vineyards tasting room. After tasting a variety of wines, we ended up buying their Grenache and another bottle. The gentlemen hosting us at the tasting bar was generous enough to throw in a free bottle of this wine as well--a "pizza" wine as he called it. We brought all three bottles back home, planning to use this pizza wine in a spaghetti sauce. Instead, we opened it up one night and ending up finishing the bottle. This is definently a wonderful wine for $6/bottle.
