Tasting Notes from Cork’d Members
Justin Isosceles 2003
(about 1 year ago)Had this with pizza last night and it was even better by itself. Upon opening, I had my customary shot glass fill before pouring into the decanter. WOW, I knew right away I was in for a treat. Decanted for two hours before the first glass. Color: Beautiful dark cherry Nose: GREEN BELLPEPPER hit me right off the bat. Showed really well early on and really opened up throughout the evening. Bit of vanilla and a little oak but very controlled. Mouth feel: Here again balanced, and not to dry. Didn’t leave a film feeling on the teeth. Taste: Not only did I have the taste of bell pepper, but a little coco and what it should have, luscious dark fruit. A little heat but nothing that overpowers the overall goodness of this wine. Finish: Lasted a good 30 – 40 seconds and I couldn’t wait to partake in glass after glass. Overall this was the best wine I have had this year.
