2003 Chocalan Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Somewhat matte ruby red. Aromas of black pepper, ripe strawberries, and just a subtle hint of leather for complexity. The alcohol is intense without reaching the point of excess. Best decanted to encourage the aromas to open: prune and jam, with chocolate in the background.
Good weight and mouthfeel, with tannins that don’t hide the fruit. Long and sophisticated, but let it age another two years.
