Honig 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
(over 2 years ago)Ruby red in color. Rich and warm raspberry smells bracketed with spice. Nice firm feel with an engaging oaky complexity. Solidly tannic. Stood this "monster" up against a great ribeye and had an excellent meal. This wine was consistent throughout the entire evening.

(over 2 years ago)This was great with various cheeses and crackers. It had a very nice full body with just enough fruit and spice.

(over 2 years ago)This is one of the best new world cabs I have had in a while. Super silky. Perfume-like bouquet with heaps of cooked raspberry; Like the smell of mom making the filling for Linzer torte. Very deep flavour but doesn't get chewy. Stays bright on the palette the whole way back. Finishes with a truffle-coco-buy another bottle-like sensation. Go get some.

(about 1 year ago)We served this one for Thanksgiving along with Prime Rib. It has a unique character so it's nice for a special occasion. Paired nicely because it is bold but very drinkable. But sometimes I want to enjoy a wine without "having" to have food. This is one of those. You can drink it on it's own. I haven't identified it's most prominent flavor. The closest I have come is artichoke.
