Red Wine Cabernet Sauvignon by Liberty School from California. The aromatic complexity of this wine is very engaging; blackberry brambles andlayers of dark cherry, chocolate and cassis, combine in a way typical of CabernetSauvignon in its most pure expression. (over 2 years ago)A very nice red with a good, full flavor. There is just a hint of bitterness, but overall the flavors are rich and pleasant. The friendly clerks at my neighborhood wine shop said that this one was very popular with the senators (of my state) who frequent that shop!

(about 1 year ago)Liberty school has a rather unique flavor to it. It doesn't smell exactly as it tastes and the first taste isn't quite like the second. It smells like its going to be kinda sweet, but there's really nothing sweet about it. I can agree with the vanilla flavor that the first reviewer mentioned, but its definately not sweet. This is a very dry wine. The first taste will strike you as sharp, but its really the spiciness of the wine. A second taste will show this wine to be smooth, but still very spicey. This would go very well with a spice-laden pasta dish or even pizza. It will overpower lighter foods.

(about 1 year ago)This is my idea of a quintessential Californian cabernet. It's a bit of a fruit bomb, but not in an unpleasant way. Highly quaffable, and it stands up to a fair bit of heat. You could eat this with a burger, a pepper steak, a nice meaty pizza, or even (I'm guessing) a chili.

VRAIMENT!! (Environ 20$ à la SAQ).

(about 1 year ago)This wine smelled promising, but it was a “dry mofo, with salad dressing and grip till hell won’t have it.” And it gets hot on the end.” Grapedonk opined that it needed to fart in a very bad way. The panel said. “We hope it gets better. A lot better.”
After it had a moment to itself, the Liberty School got better. Not offensive, not wow, but drinkable. Heat, grip, not a lot of flavor. Definitely not a wine for someone starting out, and not something to get real excited about.
