White Wine Riesling by Bonny Doon from Central Coast, California. History: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that not all grapes are created equal, and what’s more, riesling is the most unequal of them all, the Überweintraube. Riesling’s one tragic flaw is not found in its intrinsic character... Continued at wine.com ›

Bonny Doon 2004 Pacific Rim Dry Riesling (Screw Cap)
(over 2 years ago)Another Bonny Doon slam dunk. One of my favorites, it can be picked up at Trader Joe's for 8 or 9 bucks. I'd happily pay twice that for it. This wine is an incredibly value, and the screw cap means you don't have to worry about cork-fooey. Like it says on the label, this is a dry Riesling. Nothing sweet about it. Very crisp and refreshing. Excellent choice for seafood and vegetarian fare. It's solid with Asian cuisine as well.

(over 2 years ago)For those of you who think Riesling is always sweet, give this a whirl. Grill some spicy shrimp or do a stir fry with plenty of heat, unscrew a few bottles of this and have a party. Clean, crisp, and refreshing...what more could you ask for from this blend of domestic and German grapes.

(over 2 years ago)For a dry white wine (not my favourite) I really enjoyed this Riesling.

(over 2 years ago)Nice for a dry riesling. Very crisp and refreshing acidity. Granny smith apples, lemon/lime citrus and apricot

(over 2 years ago)Good value - excellent with an every day dinner. Dry, crisp and lots of notes of apple and spice.

(about 1 year ago)I love this wine - it has all the great fruitiness I love in a Riesling, without the syrupy sweetness some tend to have.

(about 1 year ago)A great first date wine. The screw cap will get a laugh. If it doesn't - your date is probably a bit too uptight and the rest of the date will be awkward. Although its a Riesling, don't expect a real sweet experience.
Bonny Doon 2004 Pacific Rim Dry Riesling (Screw Cap)
(about 1 year ago)Nice Riesling nose, Taste: fruit and florals, but little complexity. Smoth, lacks the fizz and the crispness of a good riesling, still pleasant. You can do better for the price.

(about 1 year ago)A nice lemon-yellow colored riesling with classic cold fruit notes (hint of lemon?). Definitely closer to the dry end of the spectrum with a slightly crisp edge. Perfect for the price. (My first experience with the screwcap... pretty cool.)
