(over 2 years ago)A surprisingly clean, well-balanced, fruity Rhone jug wine at $13 for 1.5 liters. This has the fresh, almost crayon-like nose of a Beaujolais Nouveau, but with heavier aromas of spice and oak. I can't give this 2 1/2 stars, so 3 for the price. Buy it and before you know it you will finish the bottle. The label on the back tells us this wine is "full-bodied" but for those who drink Cabs and Zins from California, it is going to seem rather light-bodied by comparison.

(about 1 year ago)This warm, spicy blend of grenache, syrah, carignan and cinsault is the perfect wine for staying indoors on a cold Canadian winter night. Very affordable - an excellent value.

(about 1 year ago)Long-time dinner favorite. Rock solid red - our magnum is $12 - can't beat the deal.
La Vieille Ferme 2004 Cote Du Ventoux
(about 1 year ago)A little disappointed with this wine as I had high expectations after trying the La Vieille Ferme 2004 and 2005 Cotes du Luberon (an excellent white for its price). A little one-dimensional and light-bodied. Not bad for a cheaper red though.
La Vieille Ferme 2004 Cote Du Ventoux
(about 1 year ago)This is one very drinkable value wine. Smooth through and through, it's not bringing tons of anything, except a nice balance. A pleasant, sour fruit is contrasted with some earthiness and green veggies. Not a complex wine. But pleasant.

(5 months ago)At under $8 this is reasonable value. Sweet on the nose, I got hints of nutmeg, caramel and roses. The finish was light, acidic but balanced. I found this wine lacking in earthy, peppery tones which I really like in wines from Provence.
