Bogle Petite Sirah 2004
(over 2 years ago)Wow is all I can say! From the moment I opened the bottle the aromas of boysenberry hit me. Then, there was pepper and other spicey notes. This continued in the taste.. just fantastic.. (Wicked as my hubbie said)..It is full bodied..rich..fruity..complex.. an amazing wine for about $10.

(about 1 year ago)Aromas: blackberries, black currant, hint of tobacco and oak. In 2003 this wine, for the price point, was a drinkable, recommended wine by many. But 2004, was not. After tasting this wine I was concerned that I missed the boat on this one. I had to run out and find what others said about the 2004. Seems I was not the only one who was disappointed. Flavors were disjointed. From super sweet to vegitables, it quickly falls apart on the mid-palette and then finishes even harsher. A lot of alcohol burn and the acidity felt like I just licked a 9-volt battery. I can appreciate what Bogle is trying to do, but miss the mark on this year. Ok. Try it again day later. Undrinkable. 1st wine I dumped. =(

(about 1 year ago)Dark purple color. Spicy, deep nose. Intense and tannic. Lots of dark blackberries, wood and spice. However, too harsh and out of balance to get into the complexity below surface. Spicy finish was hard to enjoy in the pucker.
