A lovely wine from start to finish. Very easy to drink- smooth and supple with dark fruit and light tannins.

Pinot Evil
(over 2 years ago)A wonderful wine from the first sip. An excellent party wine as it is as easy on the budget as it is on the palate
Pinot Evil
(about 1 year ago)agree with previous poster, great party wine, very smooth, excellent wine at the price.
Pinot Evil
(about 1 year ago)It’s funny. There are three monkeys on the label–see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil–but they don’t have the fourth monkey of, yes, you guessed it, taste no evil. As the Grapedonk sez, “That don’t seem promising.”
On smelling, the Grapedonk opined, “I think this one needs a moment to itself to let the unpleasant odors vacate the room. It has a weird plasticky thing going on.” On tasting, “Cheese, then an abuso of nothing, then a screwed-up aftertaste that’s just wrong.” Not one of the Grapedonk’s favorites.
Episode 57
Pinot Evil
(about 1 year ago)Light in complexion, but smooth and velvety. For the price, this is a true steal!!
Pinot Evil
(about 1 year ago)I was expecting better from this affordable French import, but reports of the glut of great French wine didn't improve this one a bit. I was expecting a full bodied Pinot capable of pairing with bold food flavors. I got a funny bouquet and lackluster legs. The color seemed flat instead of full, and the mouth feel of Pinot Evil was dry, more like a Cabernet. Not inspiring. The flavors just fell flat. Nothing inspiring. It may improve with time, however. If you have enough time to drink a few glasses, you won't care as much about the flat-ish flavors and slightly dry mouth feel. I did my best, but this one won't be in my cellar.

(about 1 year ago)Gee whiz, I like to be positive. But. Tonight, over dinner, the quote, "This stuff tastes like I just licked a cut on my finger." Eeeew. I took another sip and...yes...indeed, the strange notes of watery, earthy, BLOODY?! metallic... It's drinkable. But with what? I'd guess I'd pair Pinot Evil with something strong - maybe dark chocolate, maybe venison, maybe duck, maybe super-sharp cheddar...certainly, this low-power wine isn't much on its own. Pass the Charles Shaw.
Pinot Evil
(11 months ago)Nose: Alcohol Mouth: Easy to drink, fruitjuicy character. Kind of disappears in the finish.
Pinot Evil
(10 months ago)Really quite good. Surprisingly light and refreshing for a pinot noir. Light berries and the slightest hint of pepper on the finish. Paired with pork tenderloin with a rosemary, plum sauce. Deliciously complemented each other.
Pinot Evil
(10 months ago)Well on the nose this smelled like the most generic red I could imagine mixed with Franzia crisp white from a 3 liter box. There was also a STRONG wiff of alcohol. The taste, while not unpleasnet, was certainly not pleasent enough for me to continue drinking it. Unless you're buying the box for a party or something I would say pass.
Pinot Evil
(9 months ago)It was alright, had to let it breathe a little to really enjoy it. Not very complex, but it goes down well. Has a decent texture, although the finish is rather short.
Pinot Evil
(8 months ago)Cherry coolade in the nose, along with a medicinal alcohol aroma; surprising at 12.5% and a lot of breathing. Cherry & berry pop up right away upon tasting, but are quickly overwhelmed by an assault of bitterness, which lingers in the finish. I can tell it's a Pinot Noir, just not a very good one. Too bad.
Pinot Evil
(8 months ago)This wine is okay...more of a table wine than anything. A bit dry, cherry, bitter. Though it's not an uncomfortable drink in the least, it's not so much an easy one either. It doesn't scream "pinot" to me. I have had a couple of glasses tonight...but not impressed. I bought it because I'm learning my pinots at the moment. It's not velvety at all...I prefer pinots to be softer, velvety, smooth, complex, earthy...though it was a bit more tasty following a square of dark chocolate. I've had worse..don't get me wrong. Though I won't buy again. However, I'm not so turned off that I didn't drink it. The bottle's gone...not gonna lie. Some have mentioned the label...intriguing for sure!

(3 months ago)Deep Red or Cherry appearance with a ripe black cherry nose. Well balanced with a mellow appeal. This wine has a smooth velvety finish from start to finish. Dry but not astringent...a very nice Pinot Noir.
Pinot Evil
(about 1 month ago)A great GREAT pinot for the price! If you can get past the snob in all of us, you can enjoy this wine.
Pinot Evil
(about 1 month ago)Very light, almost excessively light, but with nice fruity cherry flavors and a short finish. Very nice for the price, for a non-serious before dinner type of wine.
