This was a bit hard to rate. I should first say, however, that I found it a really enjoyable wine. It was strong without being too muscular. I really wanted to give it 4 stars, but I thought the tannins were a bit green still (maybe in time they will mellow) and the alcohol was somewhat hot at the end. It had a deep ruby color, the nose had some pleasant aromatic shisha tobacco notes, and the rich fruit and spice definitely made it a savory bottling. I would buy it again, and to make this review adequately low-brow: it went well with meatloaf. Robert Parker gave it a 90.
